Ministry of Public Security Handles Suggestions Efficiently

2023-03-10

All 827 suggestions from the deputies of the National People's Congress and proposals from the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference members undertaken by the Ministry of Public Security in 2022 were handled on time and delivered with high quality, Li Guozhong, a spokesman of the ministry said on Friday.

Focusing on the needs of people's livelihoods, combined with the handling of suggestions and proposals, public security organs introduced many measures for the convenience and benefit of the people, said Li.

In response to the problems that appeared in driving license examinations, motor vehicle inspection and second-hand car trading, departments under the ministry, on the basis of in-depth research, introduced nine new measures to facilitate the relevant business. More than 100 million people enjoyed the convenience of cross-provincial driving tests and vehicle inspections, he said.

The ministry has also introduced a series of reform measures to promote the reform of administrative services and improve business environments, and 10 key measures to serve economic and social development.

For example, in response to the proposals put forward by NPC deputies and CPPCC members to strengthen intellectual property protection, the ministry continued to carry out the Kunlun 2022 special campaign. The police resolved 27,000 cases of intellectual property infringement and the production and sale of counterfeit commodities, arresting 43,000 suspects.

"We have closely integrated the handling of suggestions and proposals with the work of public security, not only promoting the solution of individual cases, but also strengthening the overall planning and promotion of the public security work," he said.

In 2022, the number of criminal cases dropped by 12 percent year-on-year, making China one of the safest countries in the world with the lowest homicide rate, the lowest criminal crime rate and the fewest cases related to gun and explosions.
